The E3K GPS tracking mobile unit is a combination active/passive GPS-based tracking device that both stores position history and reports the history and current location using the latest GPRS digital cellular technology. GPRS is the "data backbone" behind many GSM cellular networks. GPRS is the worldwide standard for data communications on cellular networks. The E3K unit operates from either +12 or +24 Volts DC and at +12V the current draw is 105mA during normal operation and 230mA during transmission. Data tracks / vehicle position is displayed in real time using Corp Ten's exclusive AutoFind/Unitrac tracking and mapping software.

The main features of the E3K unit are as follows:
  • Adjustable-rate, periodic storage of current location to form a history of the unit's positions with built-in position storage.
  • High volume / low cost reporting of vehicle positions and speed/stop information in near real-time. Typically reporting interval is every 3 minutes while vehicle is moving.
  • Storage of position reports for times when the vehicle is outside GPRS coverage area for later retry when back in cellular coverage.
  • Automated download of stored positions when vehicle is back in coverage area.
  • Many mapping and reporting features providing accountability of all vehicle / fleet operations.
  • Embedded odometer function (available soon)
When used in conjunction with the AutoFind/Unitrac tracking and mapping System, downloaded history files may be plotted on a map and the data contained within viewed in a table. The data available for each position report are the date and time, speed and heading, and latitude and longitude.
